R.L. Halversen Concert Auditions 2024/2025

The Orchestra of Southern Utah is pleased to announce the auditions for the R.L. Halversen Young Artist Concert. 

We extend an invitation to talented youth (ages 13-25) to audition with a concerto, aria, or other orchestral solo. 
Southern Utah has a great history of music and we are surprised constantly at the amazing young musicians. This concert is specifically created to honor a teacher, Roy L. Halversen, who instilled a love and legacy of music. We could not imagine a better way to continue his legacy then by showcasing the talent and passion of our youth.
 
Audition submissions should be received by September 6, 2024. Live auditions will be held on September 21, 2024. Applicants will be notified by September 28, 2024 of the results. The concert will be on April 17, 2025.

Hal Campbell Young Composer Competition 2023/24


The Orchestra of Southern Utah is pleased to announce the Hal Campbell Young Composer Competition. 


We extend an invitation to talented young composers (ages 13-30) to submit an original composition for orchestra. 

Southern Utah has a great history of music and we are surprised constantly at the amazing young musicians. This concert is specifically created to honor Hal Campbell, who instilled a love and legacy of music. We could not imagine a better way to continue his legacy then by showcasing the talent and passion of young composers.


Composition submissions should be received by November 1, 2023.
